Are vitamins good for fibromyalgia?

I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH FIBRO LAST JANUARY AND CURRENTLY HAVE 3 DOCTORS TRYING ALL KINDS OF MEDICATIONS ON ME. I FEEL LIKE I AM A WALKING PHARMACY. ACTUALLY, STUMBLING IS MORE LIKE IT. I AM EXPERIENCING MORE INTENSE PAIN IN MY FEET AND HANDS IN THE PAST 5-6 WEEKS THAN EVER BEFORE. THERE ARE MOMENTS WHEN MY HUSBAND HAS TO CARRY ME TO BED, BECAUSE THE PAIN IS SO INTENSE, I CANNOT WALK. I AM ONLY 42 YEARS OLD AND MY HUSBAND FEELS LIKE I WILL LIKELY END UP IN A WHEELCHAIR PRETTY SOON IF THINGS DON'T START GETTING ANY BETTER. PLEASE TELL ME THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN!!! ANYWAY, I'M WONDERING IF ANYONE FOUND ANY VITAMINS HELPED THEM? I WANT TO START WEANING MYSELF FROM ALL THE MEDICATIONS I AM ON BECAUSE I FEEL THAT MY BODY IS GOING TO HAVE A CHEMICAL EXPLOSION ONE DAY!


Answer:
My husband was diagnosed with Fibro recently. He has a history of intolerance of carbohydrates but has refused to watch his diet. Adding insult to injury he drinks a lot of Pepsi. I read that carbonation destroys B1 in the system. I looked up the symptoms of B1 deficiency and they were almost the same as Fibromyalgia. He experimented. He reduced his Pepsi to one a day. He reduced his carbohydrate by at least half with other foods. He took a B-complex and added 2 B1 in addition. He also takes calcium, C and Zinc and vitamine E. His pain level has been reduced about 50 to 60%. He still has insomnia problems. He takes only one anti-inflamatory (Naproxen) now instead of 2. He has taken calcium and E and Zinc before the Fibro symptoms appeared. The low-carb diet and B vitamins seem to have helped the most. We are excited. Have no idea the end result. We are now researching the insomnia problem. I'm in no way qualified to advise. I'm only sharing our experience.
