neck injury, hypothyroid, fibromyalgia

Question:
read that 22 per cent of neck injury people develop fibromyalgia. That's when mine started- 20 years ago. They didn't recognize it then. Then, a little while ago, I developed hypothyroid. Does anybody know about this neck injury business? I take melatonin, I don't think it does a darn thing.

Answer:
I have had several head and neck traumas, and I too have hypothyroidism (subclinical) and FM. I don't know if they are connected, but when I have a thyroid hormone "surge" my neck muscles tighten up and cause pain.
