Would fibromyalgia make knees hurt so much?

Question:
I have a botched up implanted knee joint (8 years ago) and the other knee may now need to be replaced (cartilage is practically all gone).. But for the last two days, both knees have been hurting, burning, aching equally. So what in the world could be causing that? My primary physician says I have osteoarthritis, (how could I, nothing else hurts except my knees?) and I take 50 mg. Vioxx every day ($4 each, ouch). I also take Vicodin for pain, but neither drug seems to be helping at all. Could it be a so-called flare? I live near the ocean in California and the weather has been different the last few days, as if it was going to rain, but no such luck. I have not been diagnosed with fibromyalgia yet, but somehow I think I have it. Can anyone tell me why I am in such pain?

Answer:
I am no expert but I think fms can cause knee pain, but don't discount OA. I tore my miniscus a couple of years ago and got put in the FM box - until I took myself to an ortho surgeon and did not tell him about the fms and he xrayed it and I had to have surgery. Don't let anyone convince you everything is fibro
