Question:
I just found this group. I have this and
was wondering if anyone else had seen an info mercial on tv. It has pat
boone
saying this herbal treatment cured his wife of fibro.I went to the
website but it cost 99.00 for 30 day supply.I thought that was kinda
exspensive. Just wondering if anyone else might have tried it.
Answer:
I assume you mean the human growth hormone releaser. Growth Hormone
products are one of the largest scams on the internet and some of the
most expensive. Now that the fad is cooling, it has jumped to
infomercials to reach a whole new audience of suckers. I am
particularly wary of the types that contain bovine glands for fear of
prion contamination. Lord knows where they get the glands.
It is the nature of FM to wax and wane. If right before a waning
period a person tries a new treatment, they will credit that treatment
with the improvement. This is why controlled studies are so important.
However, not even real HGH treatments cure FM because FM is not caused
by a growth hormone deficiency.
At the moment researchers do not even know what fibromyalgia is let
alone how to cure it. Most likely it is several diseases with similar
symptoms.
BTW, I did try a similar product, GHR-15, for 3 months and it had no
effect. I insisted on a refund and got it.
If Pat Boone claims his wife was cured of FM, he should be ashamed of
himself. The real reason he does these infomercials is because he is a
paid spokesperson.
If you are looking for something to help your FM, your best bet is to
take a multivitamin supplement that contains lots of B vitamins and a
separate magnesium supplement. A good phytochemical (as opposed to
antioxidant vitamins and mineral) antioxidant supplement is a good
idea too.
