can bee sting cause FM flare up?

Question:
Can anyone help me please? My FM has been very good until a few days ago when I was stung by a bee at work. To make a long story short I ended up having a severe allergic reaction(something new as well--complements of FM?) and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. Ever since my FM has returned full blown, stuff I'd even forgotten about is back, both physical and mental. Does this make sense or am I just blaming something else on the FM? It is hard to tell sometimes!

Answer:
The way I understand it, our own hormones, such as cortisone and epinephrin, come into play with FM...In order NOT to have an allergic reaction to something your body has to producing hormones effectively. In other words, since we are not producing some chemicals that would fight off an allergic reaction, and sometimes -especially when our bodies are stressed both mentally and physically- we produce too much of yet other chemicals....our bodies can't cope with or fight the sting, or poison . I can't touch mango, kiwi or other fruits the last few years- I end up needing medical attention-but I can eat the fruit. A bee sting, red ant bites, strwberries, tomatoes and my mother sometimes cause reactions if I'm in a flare. I am not sure if the bite, or allergic reation reaction , causes a FM Flare-up, or if our already compromised systems cannot react "normally" to the toxin, thus causing havoc in our bodies ....and keeping us on the never ending treadmill. I agree that you need to keep a Bee sting kit, EPI_PEN, around, and you may want to get a script forcortisone to keep that in the house, too. Talk to your doctor, as you've already had your warning.
