Fibromyalgia/Depression

Question:
Have had CFS since 1986. FMS diagnosed 2 years ago. Been on medication for depression since 1989. Recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.

Started physical therapy several weeks ago. I find that certain exercises make the pain MUCH worse.

Medication: Naproxen 375 mg 2 x a day for headache, neck, arm, back, leg pain Axid 300mg 2 x daily for d. ulcer Cytotec 200mcg 4 x daily for d. ulcer Ultram 50 mg l/2 tab 4 xdaily for pain Carisoprodol 350 2 x daily for muscle spasms and sleep Perphenazine 2 mg 2x daily for anxiety Metoprolol 25 mg daily for blood pressure Lorazepam .5mg 3 x daily and 1mg for sleep at night

Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:
I missed the bit about RA in my first reply. Maybe Dr. Nye could comment about RA/fms in combination. Depression is a common symptom of fibromyalgia. Often treating the fms gets rid of the depression. Don't do the exercises that make your pain worse. Exercise for fms just needs to get you aerobic, it doesn't matter what muscles are used.
