Question:
does any one out there have any experience with trying acupuncture for
treating the pain and stiffness of fibromyalgia? Recently the TV news
carried a piece about people suffering from fibromyalgia getting real relief
from an ancient medical treatment from China which was acupuncture. Some
years ago I took a class in acupressure hoping it held some hope for dealing
with fibromyalgia but it didn't. We had a chiropractor who practiced
acupuncture and I asked her this question and she said that she had no
success with using acupuncture to treat fibromyalgia.
Answer:
A rheumy I saw in '97 said there was nothing that would help
fibromyalgia. Then said to try accupuncture. My insurance won't cover
it and it's very pricey here so since rheumy said 'nothing' would help,
I never bothered to pay out of pocket.
I'd like to try 'their' accupuncturists. Wonder what they charge? Next
time my nephew & niece travel to China maybe they'll take me
I've gotten temporary relief from fairly gentle craniosacral massage and
reflexology - too pricey for me to have regular visits though
An honest practitioner from her experience at least. How nice
