Question:
We're due to go back to the RD at the end of Feb. Reima is still
in pain, despite Darvocet and Vioxxin. Pain in lower back seems
to be in soft tissue rather than any joint. Also pain in thighs
and calves. Could this be fibromyalgia? We'll ask the RD, of
course, but it would be helpful to have some basic information
beforehand. Dan is researching what he can on the subject. Any
additional insights would be most appreciated.
Answer:
I have had it for 7 years. Most
of us take a good antidepressant
and something that has helped me
more than any other medication.
Also, something for sleep. I take
trazadone and sleep like a baby,
and something for pain. Once she
has learned to manage her condition
she will feel better. I mean learning
what she can and cannot do and resting
when she's tired. I can't clean
my house so I hire it done. Staying
away from stress is the most important
thing of all. Many of my drs.feel
this is depression and stress related.
I came down with fibro after a bout
with a frozen shoulder. Not unusual
for fibro to appear after a trauma.
